Something to mull over . . .

Buddha Quotes:

“The mind is the source of happiness and unhappiness.”

"You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection."

"Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion the things which renew humanity."

"All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else."

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one getting burned."

"What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind."

"It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell."

"Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace."

"Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without."

"Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world."

"Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill."

"We are the same as plants, as trees, as other people, as the rain that falls. We consist of that which is around us, we are the same as everything."

A message to your heart

Half the world is hungry
Just through being born
And every day is a compromise
For a grain of corn

And half the world have too much
Their only hunger is their greed
Through politics and ignorance
Half the world's in need

Ronald Frederik Lapre

reality

Our individual reality is a function of our chosen perceptions. And our perceptions are formed on our beliefs. Changing your beliefs means you can change you perception which means you can change your experience of reality.

Three quotes from the late great Khalil Gibran:

The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.

A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?

But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

“Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is.” – Anne Frank

Whenever you find yourself doubting if you can go on, just remember how far you’ve come.

Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won and all the fears you have overcome.

Then raise your head high and forge on ahead, knowing that YOU GOT THIS!

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

Sacred Visions

"The world would have you agree with its dismal dream of limitation. But the light would have you soar like the eagle of your sacred visions."

Alan Cohen

Few of my favorite quotes from Albert Einstein

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”           Albert Einstein

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Albert Einstein

"Be who YOU are and say what you feel,

because ~ those who mind do not matter,

and those who matter do not mind."

 ~ Dr. Seuss ~

Thoughts to ponder:

Time passes and moments slip by; each moment connected to the next, carrying our memories throughout the passage of endless time! How often do our memories slip across the divide to access these treasures, hidden deep inside our mind?  How often does our thought slip back in time to think of a loved one, sharing a smile a laugh and perhaps even a tear that slips down a cheek as we say goodbye? These cherished moments come flittering back, touching us deeply inside. Then with a blink of an eye that moment once again drifts back into the passage of endless time.   TLC - Telsie

As the years slip by . . .

  • Each moment connecting to the next and what have we done?
  • What changes have we accomplished to make this world a better place?

Reflection always enters at the closing of one year before the next beings. We cannot expect the world to change on its own, it all starts bit by bit with the little “i” with each person stepping up and doing their part.  Take time to celebrate and during that time also see what you may be able to accomplish in each moment that you live upon this earth that will make a difference to all.

Remember that taking the time to smile, share a story, laugh or perhaps even cry with someone may make a big difference in the lives of those you touch.

May we all touch someone each day . . .        TLC -Telsie
